Nice to see someone who enjoys their work Carl, congrats on finishing. In Quebec are you required to install French or bilingual wheels on day models, also new Rolex, are the wheels required to be French or bilingual? Non Canadians will think the question silly but Quebec has some strange rules. Again congrats, big money to be made working on clocks these days, according to my watch maker he is inundated with repairs and as you said usually after they have seized up.

Yesterday went very well, looking forward to going today as I'm currently drawing plans for a balance staff.

I'm very jealous Carl, I wish I was doing what you are doing!
Do the movements tick in french in Quebec?

Carl, Cornerstore (Patrick) asked about the language of the day. I never thought of this to be honest. Just thought it would be English. Shows you how ignorant I am. People in France probably have French spelling days on their watches.
Yes, Quebec has anti English laws. Not trying to start anything political. Just verifying what Patrick said about funny laws in Quebec. |

Funny you should mention that, I had just sent Patrick a private message to answer his question before Andy posted in my thread, I didn't want to bump it too much. To give a short answer to your question (and to avoid a political debate), there are no laws whatsoever that force the owner of a watch with a day to have it in French, let alone a law that forces us to do the change. Laws regarding French are made for different things. Feel free to send me a private message if you have more questions. Thank you Tim and I believe you will understand if I tell you to stay tuned, I've got a new phone with a better camera for you-know-what...

Thanks Carl. DIdnt want to imply that French words on a watch was forced. Was just a matter of fact thought. Do AD's stock watches with French words...that was what I should have asked. No need for a PM.. ;-)

I don't know if AD's stock watches with French days, if we're talking Rolex the disc is available in 26 languages and it's up to the customer to choose to have it change but I'm guessing most watches are available in English as it's the most popular one. Otherwise I'm going to assume all watches around here have English days and one can have the disc changed if he wants to.
