Incoming back up to my 16610
Good morning everyone. I just purchased this watch off of ebay and was wondering if anyone was a bit more knowledgeable than I am on this watch I chose to be my yard work and fishing and when I go to the range watch. Here is a link to the listing that I hope works:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181205601144 It's a Vintage Mans Seiko Automatic Diver's 200m Watch, Fully Serviced. It comes with a one year warranty and I loved the wore out Pepsi Insert. I have tried to date the watch but either I don't know what im doing or there is to much confusing data out there. I have a bit of buyers remorse but only because I know it will never see all that much wrist time as there's not much like wearing my Rolex but I did need a good back up beater watch and this one having been fully serviced seemed like a good pick, it called to me. It has a 7s26-0029 movement in it and in case the link doesn't work I will post a pic or two. |

I don't know much about them except that is a prolific 26 jewel workhorse movement for Seiko. It's been in, and I think still put in, many thousands of Seiko's. I've had a few, and they can get wacky for no apparent reason, and they are susceptible to shocks. Overall, I think they are a great value in terms of watch for the dollar however, and I like them.

Looking at your caseback 6 digit numbers, it seems the watch was made in 1998 and in June, iirc.
The first digit 8 is the year, second digit 6 is month. Its a dependable watch, great choice! |

I returned it though before it even got here because he misrepresented its age and I bought it without knowing enough. Vintage is not a made in 98 watch. I'd like something like that and truthfully I already have a semi expensive watch in my 16610 I was looking for something cheap but dependable that was bordering on vintage. I'll be damned if I don't end up with another Rolex if I keep shopping. Lol

Sorry to hear Richard, keep us posted. Seiko's always seem to be a pretty good value for the buck.

You won't go wrong with a Seiko diver! Great fade to the Pepsi insert!
