Incoming back up to my 16610

Good morning everyone. I just purchased this watch off of ebay and was wondering if anyone was a bit more knowledgeable than I am on this watch I chose to be my yard work and fishing and when I go to the range watch. Here is a link to the listing that I hope works:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181205601144

It's a Vintage Mans Seiko Automatic Diver's 200m Watch, Fully Serviced. It comes with a one year warranty and I loved the wore out Pepsi Insert. I have tried to date the watch but either I don't know what im doing or there is to much confusing data out there.
I have a bit of buyers remorse but only because I know it will never see all that much wrist time as there's not much like wearing my Rolex but I did need a good back up beater watch and this one having been fully serviced seemed like a good pick, it called to me.
It has a 7s26-0029 movement in it and in case the link doesn't work I will post a pic or two.

I don't know much about them except that is a prolific 26 jewel workhorse movement for Seiko. It's been in, and I think still put in, many thousands of Seiko's. I've had a few, and they can get wacky for no apparent reason, and they are susceptible to shocks. Overall, I think they are a great value in terms of watch for the dollar however, and I like them.

The safest place for your watch is on your wrist.

Looking at your caseback 6 digit numbers, it seems the watch was made in 1998 and in June, iirc.
The first digit 8 is the year, second digit 6 is month.

Its a dependable watch, great choice!

I returned it though before it even got here because he misrepresented its age and I bought it without knowing enough. Vintage is not a made in 98 watch. I'd like something like that and truthfully I already have a semi expensive watch in my 16610 I was looking for something cheap but dependable that was bordering on vintage. I'll be damned if I don't end up with another Rolex if I keep shopping. Lol

Sorry to hear Richard, keep us posted. Seiko's always seem to be a pretty good value for the buck.

Thanks and I do agree they are a sturdy movement and have been for a long time. The problem is I'm to damn picky and maybe a bit spoiled with my Rolex and even in those times I want to own a beater I invariably wish it was a beater Rolex truthfully. As bad as I hate to say it cause I hate to see any shitty condition Rolex but I would be a buyer in a minute for a well running beat up cased Rolex. I'm not sure where to look for one. The ones on here are above (which is not a bad thing) what I have wanted to spend to accomplish my task, and it's not a matter of affording but it is a matter to me to be respectful to my wife's feelings on what she'd like to see me be willing to spend. I'm kind of the high maintenance one in our house, although if I wanted to spend 10k she'd never tell me no. So anyone with a beater GMT or the like I'm certainly a potential buyer.

You won't go wrong with a Seiko diver! Great fade to the Pepsi insert!

Any direction you can point me in to find one that I'd want to own? Maybe something leaning toward vintage. I hate fleabay ..... It seems like you get nothing but misrepresented watches. I've combed through listing after listing and I just have bad feelings buying something like a watch off of eBay.
