MAURICE LACROIX Tourbillon RARE

I stop into my local AD yesterday. Before I say a word, he says "Mark, wait till you see this". He directs me to the secure area set aside for high rollers, looking at big money watches. I'm like WTF as he heads to the safe.

Next thing I see is a MAURICE LACROIX Tourbillon. There are only 2 of these in the US and only 30 total for the entire world. The watch cost $150,000 . Go to http://www.mauricelacroix.com to read more about this amazing watch. It's beauty was apparent seeing it in person and being allowed to hold it. The presentation box was UNREAL !

Here's the deal. If anyone on here wants to buy this peice .... my commission is "The next SS Daytona that rolls in the store"

Come on, someone spend the cash and take it home. Make your favorite admin a happy admin.

Why don't you buy it mark? This way you have the ML and the SS Daytona.

Like the blued hands and thats about it,and to be honest cannot see any reason for any Tourbillon watches. The tourbillon does not correct position variations; it only prevents their being detected in the usual testing conditions. But when placed on the vibrograph, the tourbillon reveals its weaknesses immediately,And overhaul accuracy is little better than any well regulated chronometer. The tourbillon is in fact an additional mechanism that consumes energy without
producing anything except misinformation. It is a parasitical mechanism, the energy it consumes is taken from the reserve destined to the regulator. As a result, the balance with less energy will have reduced advantages.IMHO the tourbillon in a wrist watch is a greatly overpriced unnecessary edition, and its only point is that its saying that the watchmaker can make them.Next we will see watches with two or perhaps three Tourbillons and 200 jewels and turbo powered, horology gone crazy.Rant over well Mark hope you find a buyer but if you do
I would have a TT daytona any day over the SS.

Would that I could afford to do that, John.

Although I agree with Padi, the tourbillon is another marketing gimmick to help jack up the price and profit margins for these companies.

I agree. A tourbillon is just a watchmaker's wet dream come true. No reasonable excuse to 'need' a tourbillon.

Yes 100% agree mate and to put things in perspecive, most quartz movement produced today. Are only as accurate as a mechanical clock made 285 years ago by John Harrison's breakthrough regulator Marine Chronometer.

Well IMO they look very ugly remove that abomination from that Maurice Lacroix dial, then you would have a nice looking watch

Well Padi, no 200 jewels or turbo power, but saw an article in a WatchTime issue that was about some AHCI makers who were putting FOUR tourbillons in one watch!!
