To buy or not to buy?
My AD has a sub no-date, estate watch, for $3,800. I was wanting to wait until next year to buy my next watch. It's been there for a while, no one interested. It has all the boxes and papers. The question is should I buy it, since I wanted a sub at a great value? Or wait and find something else? I was wanting my next to be a birth year watch. Any personal opinions are welcome. Thanks!

I'm not sure the ref #. I believe it is an early 2000's. Maybe 2001-2003?

Sounds like a fair deal, but it doesn't sound like you really want it. I'd say pass on it and get what you want.

The watch is more important than the price, so stick to your original plan

Sounds reasonable, price wise if the condition is good.

If you really wanted it your thread title would say
"Look what I just bought!"

Doesn't sound like you are convinced, especially that the piece is still there. For me, if there or not, I would scoop it up if its REALLY what I wanted. ;-)

Just because something is a good deal doesn't mean you should buy it.

If it was the "watch" you would have already moved on it. Wait and you will know when the right one is available.

I read the OP as asking if it's a good deal more than anything else. It's a good deal, and if that's the watch/look/features you are after...make them an offer.

You say you wanted a Sub at a great value, so the opportunity presents itself earlier than expected. Have the AD service the piece, maybe squeeze a few more bucks, get it.

A birth year watch will mean more to you and will give you a little story you can tell even to people who aren't remotely interested in watches so its worth the wait and a few extra bucks.

We'll update. Went to the AD and the watch was sold. Oh well. Thanks everyone for weighing in.
