Real?

Just picked this up - Datejust circa 1979-1980 according to serial number. Owner told me 100% original including band. It's in great shape and keeps great time. 14k jubilee. Band just says Rolex 14k stainless but no fancy insignia. Any thoughts?

Sorry if pics aren't the best and thanks in advance!

Real?

you have a USA made, Oval link band made under license during this period due import taxes at the time. The rest looks ok. Those bands were prone to stretch Michael young in hk can sort that out pretty cheap

Guys - thanks so much for your input, much appreciated!

Also thanks for the band repair tip. I would love to get the band tightened but then I'm afraid it will be too small for my wrist. I may need to buy some extra 14k links.

Or MY can just make you extra links; might look into which is cheaper and more practical.

I wouldn't think so. He's currently making me two links for a 14k jub. that he is refurbishing; each link is material (most of total cost) plus just a little for labor. Very reasonable in my opinion.
