As mentioned by someone else, I don't really believe all this.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if these fakes are being announced as real on forums such as this so loads of educated, well informed collectors can simply highlight what gives it away as a fake, giving whomever makes them the feedback necessary to make the next round even harder to detect. I know that's pretty cynical, but that's what I'd do if I was in that game. |

I totally agree with the comments that this was a full on phishing expedition. He never got worried, or upset, or angry, and never commented on how much $$ he may or may not have lost to basic fraud. He just asked for more info on how the fake details were spotted. Interesting.
Either this, or he is the calmest person on the planet, and we should all take notes. |

So true, I would either have notice served by close of business or have already ninja'd the kneecaps off of the seller!
These things make me feel sick! I have had a close call with a 6263 once where it was discovered to be a 'composite' watch when I sent it to Rolex for a service - luckily dealer was unaware and I received a full refund. |

If it's true = bad, if it is fishing = bad. Either way, this story does not have a happy ending.

Buyer "Vincent" asks in his opening/first post: "Does she (the watch) look strange?". Now I think that asking that question is ... strange :) . Why would you ask that about a watch that you just bought?

No one spends a 100K on a watch without doing some homework, just another troll having some laughs.
