BEWARE! Scammers at it again!
Just a heads up. Again. Scammers are coming to the Forums using ref's you and I have developed, and are sending fake emails, describing various watches for sale at stupid cheap prices, but since you've done business with them they use your name making it appear its a trusted person you can do business with. Best way to figure out if it's the real person you've dealt with is click on the senders address in the header, compare it to the address you have used to communicate in the past. These guys are getting better and better. I've enclosed the actual email I received, so you will know what to expect. Wouldn't it be nice if we could enjoy the hobby and the forums for what they were intended for? Good Luck to all.
Hope all is well. I have a question for you. I was wondering if you would be interested in a white dial Daytona 116520 SS V series in MINT condition w/box and complete papers. A good friend of mine shipped me the watch to me to sell for him. I guess he ran into some money problems and needs it sold asap. He is only looking to get $6,000 which is a great deal for this particular piece. I don't need anymore Daytonas at the moment or I would add it to my collection. Figured I'll email some recent clients of mine before posting it on the forums. Let me know if you would be interested. |

A fool and his money are soon parted as the old saying goes. It's a good reminder to ALWAYS check things out thoroughly before finalizing a deal.

We should all actively report such messages. Just a reminder, you can do this via the little red-triangled-exclamation icon in the upper right hand corner of each message you receive.

I've recently received the same email from a reference off WatchNet. After I informed the person the scammer was inpersonating, they said they posted something up on Watchnet announcing the fact. Now for some reason, watchnet is being listed as a malicious website.
Anyways, I actually convinced the guy I'll pay 5k now, and send another 1.5k in 6 weeks. He won't accept paypal, but he did give me his bank wire info, including name, and full address: Bank: Wells Fargo Bank Full name: Jeremy Honor Account#: 325-266-0844 Routing#. 121-000-248 Banks address: 1302 W International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114 Banks telephone#: 386-254-1830 Home address: 102 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. Daytona Beach, FL 32119 |

Isn't a touch ironic his name is "Honor"?

Either way I forwarded his info to the daytona beach police, if he scammed anyone, the money might be in that account
