No price increase for me!

Wanna know how to beat a price increase? It's a simple two-step process:

1. Buy now, before the increase hits on Saturday
2. Enlist the help of Buz, the king of making a deal.

It works.

Fellow TRFers, I am now the proud owner of a brand new, M-serial Explorer-II with a gleaming white dial. This is my third Rolex, but my first BNIB from an AD. It's still got the plastic.

I would like to publicly, loudly, and sincerely thank Buz. About a week ago I put a feeler out in sales corner for an Exp-II. I'm in Iraq, coming back in a few weeks. I really wanted a new Exp-II before the price increase. Buz responded, and within a couple of days he had one for me at his trusted AD in Georgia. He negotiated the price at $4500 for a Z-serial BNIB, and arranged shipping. I wired him the funds.

Buz delivered almost as promised. When he went to pick up the watch, Buz talked the AD out of an M-serial that they had just received, and got them to throw in out-of-state insured shipping--all for the originally quoted price of $4500.

THANKS, BUZ!!

Now, I'm on cloud nine!!

Without further ado...(better pics will follow)

And thanks as well to Tom, Karis, and a few others that offered to help as well. I know many TRFers would have gone to the same lengths Buz did. What a crowd.

I'd love to, Bo--it'll have to wait a few weeks, though. It's just one of many things I'm so anxiously looking forward to.

Here's Buz's wristshot

I don't have one of my own yet, but maybe this will appease the masses.

Thanks for the kind words Kevin but as you mentioned I think most folks here would have been happy to do the same. I look forward to meeting you in Savannah and seeing it on your wrist. BTW, I took all the pics with the plastic still on so the bezel protector detracts considerably from that beauty.

Thanks for all the comments! I'm very excited to get this watch. When I first bought my Sub, I was back and forth to the end between the Sub and the Exp-II. Sub won the day because everyone uniformly said "your first Rolex should be a Sub...." Now I have both.

Honestly, I have been indifferent to the CRB. This is my first CRB, so we'll see. I don't think I'll notice it that much, but maybe I'll love it--who knows? Who cares? I'm just psyched about the Expy!!

Thanks for all the comments, guys. And I appreciate your comments about service, but there are probably a dozen of us on this forum. It's as easy as getting out of bed in the morning.

Thanks again.

I agree on beating the price increase. I have three AD's now in my back pocket. I bought 5 in the past 24 hrs. I figure I will keep the best ones and let the others go to members here or even back to the AD. A 90 day return policy with no restock fee rocks at a time like this!

BTW: to the OP Congrats on the new piece and getting a smokin deal!

Thanks JJ! Congrats to you, as well. BTW MSN Money listed NZ (Auckland) as one of the world's best places to retire to. Affordable rents and cost of living, easy access to health care, no cap gains tax, etc. Tough to get residency status though (unless you have a sheep costume?).

Made me think of you and your new place. I'm glad everything worked out for you. We love our watches, but there's nothing like the pride and satisfaction from being comfortable in your home.
