That is not normal wear, especially on a band that has been serviced by Michael Young.
I would have to see it to say what is wrong but possibilities that come to mind are: 1. Worn spring bars (very badly worn, replace immediately!) 2. Stretched (or worn) center links (the gold parts) 3. Bent end pieces I would have it looked at by someone knowledgeable...
