Opinions on full gold Yachtmaster 16628?

Since I bought my RG Day-Date 118235 I am getting more into gold watches. I have set my eyes on the Yachtmaster 16628 in full gold.
I am little bit concerned regarding how sensitive the bezel is to nicks, scratches etc.
I wonder if any owners or other members can give their thoughts on this?
I have seen some pics of bezel that seems "dirty" and darkened. I don't know if this occurs or if it's just shadows on the pics or something else...?

My second gold choice would be a full gold sub (16618).

Any other thought on these watches are appreciated!

The gold YM is striking. You'll first notice the weight of it. Gold scratches easily but also buffs out easier than stainless. Never had a problem with the bezel being darkened. It's a real beauty.

True, but I am actually more concerned about the brushed part of the bezel. Saw some scratched ones and it didn't look that good.
Isn't it hard to get that fixed? It seems to be such a fine brushing...

I had one and got rid of it for the same bezel concerns you have. it doesn't look good on the matte part no matter how you take care of it

the watch when new is amazing but matte part of bezel looks kinda dirty all the time to me

I would go with the sub

this is the best it looks and is amazing!!

Good question.

The watch is gorgeous though; I would love to own it one day.

Thanks for your input! I appreciate it. Is it not possible to clean and maintain the matte parts with for example a soft toothbrush?

Yes it is and I did I just was never quite happy enough with it to keep it

I got it for how it looks in the pics which is amazing but you will see some shadow around the bezel numbers on the matte finish

I think you could maintain it if you have more patience then I

is that what the modern version of patina is ,,, like vintage shoes , etc , think id be going for the sub though ,,, very close call , as good as the bezel looks , it would drive me nuts.
also the white hands and black markers never looked quite right ,

Decided to buy me a 16628 after all. Added a brand new royal blue dial and had the AD in Stockholm re-blast the bezel to get it freshened up. Here are some pics that I meant to post earlier but here it goes, thanks to all input from members when I was on the fence on pulling the trigger. Enjoy:

I have had one since 2000. Wife wears it every day and does everything from decorations to gardening...looks fantastic and gets far more attn than my YG daytona or President. Its a classic and not as common as the Sub.
