Yes, RB&G all from ebay, fit is nice and clean not to mention less wear and tear on the OEM one. Such fun should be illegal. ;)

So what you're saying is, Whitey Bolger would approve of this mod??

I gotta' say: I like the red bezel insert. I've a 14060 as well, and like the look of the mod. Saw the blue one, and liked that too.

Is swapping them out as easy as it seems? Remove the bezel, then remove the insert, replace insert then bezel, right?

Ummm, I've never tried it, but there are several tutorials on here by the real forum experts that will take you step by step. I just take mine to my watchmaker and for about $25 he does the deed cleanly and professionally. But I'm a guy who thinks a tool box is a drawer containing a hammer and a dime. Good luck!

Actually the hardest part was placing the bezel back on; it took several tried to get the unidirectional spring clear. But yes, it really is that easy. If you ever made models as a kid then this is a piece of cake.

Hey, watch what you say about my Uncle Whitey; he's a great guy irl.

Also I don't want a Black Bay; perfectly happy with my Sub ND.

How long have you had it? Two weeks? Didn't take long to strip it down

Nope; it won't take long to put it back either. It's a watch not a shrine.

And clearly not a grail, either.

I agree about the Sub. I really like the look of the BB, but why buy a Tudor when you can have a Rolex. Plus, I like mods.

Funny you should say that about Whitey. I've heard that before. I spent several long weekends in Southy with a fellow Jarhead from there between 1974-78 when Stateside. A total trip for a small town hick from the South. Initially not very pleasant, but eventually I became "known." My accent and home state provided much comic relief to the locals.
I don't think I actually ever saw him, but he was discussed, by first name, like some sort of guardian angel or benefactor. Never recall hearing his last name until many years later.

Actually I was considering the mods when I got it. Not permanent and not final. No such thing as grails for me, imho. I've collected guitars for many years. I'm not a good enough care taker to own a grail. Happy to have ones I can use and not worry about. Part of the reason the bezel and band aren't on anymore. They are safely tucked away.

I actually had never heard of Whitey until his arrest. I just moved back to Mass after 16 years on the West Coast. I grew up in NYC and I'm more familiar with their gangsters than with those around Boston. There are plenty of examples of outlaw benefactors in legend. It doesn't make them less viscious however. Intersting story you have however.

Oh, and PS. Exactly my thoughts. Why would I want a Tudor when I can have a Rolex.
