Calling all Tudor sub experts
Hi guys,
I'd be grateful for your thoughts on the hands on this Submariner 79090. http://www.ebay.it/itm/orologio-Tudo...-/261392883472 The seller has told me that the hands glow after being exposed to strong light, but then fade within an hour after that (luminova?) The dial markers don't glow at all (tritium?) But, the hands match the pip in the bezel. SO maybe it is all original (the seller doesn't know - he's a jeweler, not original owner). I also know that Tudor hands and dials are known to fade at different rates; but on this one the hands still glow and the dial doesn't. So it's not just a question of different fading speeds; it appears to be different materials. I'm thinking that at some stage, due to tritium dust/specks or something the hands have been swapped at a service. Or maybe a previous owner wanted to be able to tell the time in the dark. But then I'm stumped how the hands' lume matches the lume in the pip. Grateful your thoughts please experts. |

Perhaps the bezel insert has been changed quite normal as they are just serviceable items markers look tritium but hands look luminover but its well over priced..
