Calling all DSSD owners, part 2
Calling all DSSD owners! After much back and forth, and after the love/hate feeling I got after Baselworld (love the SD4K, HATE the ridiculous price), I have decided to get a DSSD. Let me first say that the DSSD was a far cry from what I was planning to buy. I originally wanted either a SubC, Hulk, or the rumored Sub II (which was thought to be a 42mm version Sub/SD).
I even remember that I specifically made a joke in a Basel rumor thread that if the DSSD were to be discontinued, "I would go out tomorrow to an AD to buy one". Well, after the SD4K was announced, and I realized that I could nearly buy a DSSD for the same price, I decided to give the DSSD another shot. I also had not realized how big my wrists were; typically 7.5 to 7.75 inches, and closer to 8.0 inches in the humid summer. I took a pic below of my current Sub 16610, my current PO 46mm as reference for work attire, and the DSSD I tried at an AD. The AD I am working with is offering BNIB, shipped and tax for $10,500. Does that seem reasonable, or is there much more room to neogitate for closer to a 15% discount? I have looked into the "trusted sellers", and I seem to be getting a price around $10K. Also, for BNIB, can someone tell me what exactly is the typical complete set beyond plastic stickers, bezel protector, hang tags, inner/outer box, warranty card? Most importantly, what about the total amount of links that come with the DSSD bracelet? |

From the pictures, your wrist seems more than big enough for the DSSD. In my opinion, it is much more a matter of style than wrist size: you either like the way big watches look or you don't. There is no right or wrong.
I think it looks great. |

The DSSD looks best on that big paw. As to price, $10,500 including shipping and tax seems to be a pretty good deal. Tax alone is probably somewhere between $800 and $1K. So, at the estimated high end, you're getting the watch for somewhere in the $9,500 range before tax. That's a pre-tax discount of around 20% for a BNIB from an AD. Not bad, IMHO.

It was only last month that I started to wear the PO and took some photos, that I started to look closer at how much smaller the 40mm Sub was starting to look. After a month of wearing the PO, and putting the Sub back on, I actually started to somewhat miss the heft of the PO. The DSSD felt right at home when I tried it on the AD. |

You will also really appreciate the new clasp. In warm weather, you may adjust the clasp several times through out the day & night.
There are 11 links, plus the divers extension link. You listed everything for a complete set except the booklets. Congratulations in advance!! |

That DSSD is right at home on your wrist! I heard it calling your name, too ha ha. I still love mine after four years.

Well, that advantage is gone today. I actually can't even wear the PO in the summer because the bracelet was originally sized in the winter, so the watch fits super tight in the summer (wrist probably around 0.5 inches bigger at that point). Omega's biggest disadvantage is the lack of micro-adjustment. My AD shut down, and I'm too cheap to go to the boutique to get it resized. |

What kind of wrist time does yours get? When going from a DSSD to your BLNR or DJ2, does it feel weird? When I tried the SubC in the store, it quite honestly didn't feel much heavier or larger than my Sub 16610. Now the DSSD feels very nice, just about similar in size and weight to the PO. |

Not an owner yet either, but might as well post this here as well - like me seems to be calling you -

If size of the DSSD is what you are worried about don't be! It looks fantastic on your wrists, I just wish my wrists could grow some more so I could support one of those!

Thanks all for your support, and enablement...what a disease this hobby is!
By the way, for a 7.5 inch wrist would only 1 link need to be taken out? When I tried it on, it felt like only one would need to be removed. I'm not sure if the bracelet is the same length as the 16610, but I currently have 1 link removed there as well. Is there a sizing guide somewhere perhaps? |

Best thing to do is have the AD size it on your wrist when you purchase the watch. Try having one link removed, and, if it's too big, have a second link removed. The AD should get it right for you.
