Yes but are you. Obviously the thermometer is in accurate. That's got to be about 200 F and way to hot. Not sure the Rolex would be good in that environment for real.

Hot air is much different from hot water.

The watch will feel as my skin to the touch. Not very hot. However touch something metal that is not in contact with your skin or other cooling and you'll get a burn.

The watch is being cooled by your precipitation and skin temperature. Wood is also a poor conductor of heat, why the interior of a sauna is wood, and not for example metal.
