JLC Master Control 8 Days

Hi all

What's your thoughts on this one? Looking for a complicated addition to my collection.

I believe it was discontinued circa 2005. I really like the complications and the movement seems great!

My collection pic is below and the MC from an external source. I am worried it is similar in looks to my Omega Seamaster?

Thanks

As beautiful as your omega is, no one will it confuse it with that jlc. Totally different level. It's a complicated watch, but the dial in my eyes at least, has a nice symmetry. That would look great in your collection

Thanks for the sensible comment. I'm just thinking that the Omega won't get any wrist time because of the JLC...it's superior in every way.

I have to admit that I am surprised at the similarities between them.

The markers and numerals are basically identical, as are the case/lug design.

It would not stop me from buying the JLC if that is what you really like. However, I think your Omega will definitely become second fiddle when you reach for a silver dial dress piece in your watch box.

At least you can have them on opposing strap colors to help differentiate which one will be worn

Thanks for that. I think there are also many differences: the JLC is/has 41mm, sunburst dial, many complications, transparent caseback, 8 day power reserve, brown strap and deployment clasp.

I would like to add a reverso but can't find one with the right size and complications. I have looked at the the grande GMT but don't really like the thickness.

Yea I agree, there are enough differences to justify the purchase. They are very different in the ways that you mention. I also find that the strap color can change the overall appearance of a watch, so with the omega on black and the JLC on brown...I think that makes the JLC more of a dress casual piece compared to the omega.
