Datejust Question.
At lunch with my family for moms day.
We just had a little debate. Why is it called the datejust? I said it's because it allows the date to adjust without winding through the clock. My girl and my pops think is because it's "just" the date and not the day date. I'm certain someone here knows. Please let me know. Thanks.

Both are decent suggestions to be fair!
I would however say there is more weight to the take of the date being adjusted without winding. |

The Datejust was introduced in 1945 and featured the first date window in a wristwatch that automatically adjusted itself each day to a new date.
The Day-Date was not introduced for another decade, in 1956
