Hacking seconds on ref 1803?
I've seen a few references in some internet sleuthing that late production models of the 1803 have the hacking seconds feature (sometime around 1972?)? I've searched around on the forums to see if I can confirm this but no luck so far. Can anyone out here who is more knowledgeable than myself confirm? Thanks!

That sounds right to me. It is my understanding that Rolex added the hacking feature to all 15xx calibers around the early-to-mid 70's.

That gives me some comfort ;) I have a 4.5mm serial 1803 that I understand dates to right around '74/75 that I recently acquired and for some reason changing the time today I realized that the seconds stopped and had a moment of a panic....
Hopefully others chime in as well, but appreciate the feedback. |
