1601 on Jed's leather
Hi all, I was able to have bracelet swapped to leather. Tell me what you think?
I finally got to see the serial is a low 1.5 million. What year would that place it? Band is marked 2 67 but it would be cool if it's 1966. I saw online tables say 1.4 is 1966 and 1.6 is 1967. Would a 1.5 be late 66? Thanks for helping |

Looks great! Could be either 66/67, hard to say. Don't dwell on it, it's a lovely watch.

Thank you It's fun guessing if it's a 66 or not though.
I'm looking forward to Rikki servicing it after he gets done with my daytona. Then for fun I am going to switch that strap to the black dial 16520. Good idea? |

Thank you guys! As to age I can rely more on the bracelet and inside case back, which both have II 67 and 2 67 stamped on them, so it's highly likely 1967. Could the band really be original to the watch if all dates are equal on them? This will be a first for me because I never had a Rolex where the bracelet matched the year of the head

Working on a home project and dressed for it way before I even knew I'd get the strap on watch today, and funny how it's coordinated to my painter dickies pant and sanuk sandals

Good looking watch. Sorry but to be honest I'm not a fan of DJ's on vintage leather. If you're not going to use a bracelet I like them better on dressier croc or lizard straps. But you know what? Its your watch and your money you worked hard for so screw me. Wear it and enjoy!

I got what you mean and it's a fun trend too
A DJ already is comfortable and this strap is so soft making it even more comfy and nearly unnoticeable. I will put it on a nice black croc strap too. I think it's fun to try a datejust on every type strap, but when it's time to be serious it goes back on the proper jubilee |

Perfect look Gerard, casual and unique.
This strap is from Bulang & Sons - the nicest I have owned. I wore it on a 3-day business meeting in Atlanta last week, I just love the combo. Vintage leather against two tone - who could have guessed it would work so well |

Your TT does look good on that strap Russ Makes me think I should have kept my quick set TT DJ, but it went to a good cause, helping me get the daytona. Which I will certainly try on leather when it's back from service. Of all the watches on leather, I feel the datejust makes most sense because even though it's water resistant, I don't immediately think of diving wearing one Leather is also a good reminder on a watch that's not able to tolerate getting wet, such as my old 1965 speedmaster, which I wear on all types of leather straps
