Red Sub on classic Patek Croc

Hi guys, just thought would try on this used croc Patek strap that recently got. While all of my tastes in sub leather straps have always leaned towards the heavier shell cardovan bunds, this is the first time I put on a classic design strap on the sub, what do you think?

Looks very nice. I love the rough leather straps on the very early gilt subs but the newer Subs can certainly sport a newer Croc strap like what you have done.
Nice!

There's a beautiful 5508 for sale in Germany, on a black Patek gator (would post pics, but I'm posting from my iphone) & it looks great.

Imo gator/croc straps go well with vintage Subs, bc of how elegant the cases are, if that makes any sense. The hefty new Subs (or god forbid, the DSSD) won't nearly looks as good on a gator strap.

And, let's not forget; the big man, mr. Bond himself, wore his Sub on a black croc strap for big parts of Dr. No, From Russia With Love & Thunderball.

Thanks for the feedback friends, still contemplating if the dressy look straps go with the subs. Didn't know James Bond wore his on a croc strap. The other thing I could try is putting those SS end links to hide the gap near the lugs but the main concern is whether dressy straps and tool subs really mix that easily, thanks for your input and more feedback welcome!

I don't think the fact that it was a tool watch is really relevant anymore, your not diving with the thing, so why not wear it on leather. in summer your wrist swells and shrinks much more than winter which is another reason why I switch to leather or NATOs as they're easily adjusted. I think it looks great, endlinks would make it look a bit better, but however you decide to wear it, it will always be a beautiful vintage sub. Do you have the original 9315 band?

Thanks mate, yes, I do have the 9315 and 93150 but have been experimenting with mainly bund leather straps for a chunky look which am comfortable with, this is my first classic look trial:).

Not really sure...think it's the colour that's not floating my boat.
Would like to see it on a black croc strap for comparison. That said, that's just my opinion, it's your opinion that really counts
Fantastic Red though, no matter what shoes it's wearing

Could be the colour is more suited for Gold models, however did try a shiny black croc strap at the Rolex RSC here but it wouldn't gel very well. Thanks.

I'm also not a fan of the color you have there. Your idea about custom end pieces is right on. I think it makes a big difference and looks "finished" instead of like you're missing the factory band.
I wanted a plain vintage band as you can see but I do think a darker grey or black croc strap with end pieces would like super.

Think I will try a black croc next, wore it with this one today and think its beginning to grow on me!
Nice watch and band you have there, the shell cardovan and vintage straps surely go well in classic style straps, don't see many in croc or exotic leathers.
