LV-C Vs SD-C
Alright help me out here please. I never asked something like that here because I usually make up my own mind but this time is a bit different. I need to aim at something for the (near?) future and the options I can see are the LV-C and the SD-C, specially because glidelock + longer clasp is something very important to me.
I already have two ceramic Submariners so If I get the LV-C I would have 3 Subs, and if I get the SD-C I would have 3 black divers that look the same. I know both choices are reduntant and Im fine with that. There are pros and cons on both. About the cons, the LV-C is perhaps too much green, and the SD-C is way too expensive but if I wait patiently I believe I'll be able to get one for something around 9.5K in the future. The 5 digit Subs would be a great choice but removing a permanent link is out of question for me. The third option would be forget about that and use the money for something else, but that option is the most difficult one to accept. Thanks everyone. |

I voted for the LV. I'd rather have more color!

I vote forget those two. Go grab a white dial Daytona. It doesn't sound like have a white dial watch, and it's very different.
If you wanted one of the two, my vote would be the LVC for some color in the collection. |

I'd go with the 116600. True, the black dial and bezel are similar to your other Subs, but there are so many differences. The LVC is nice, but I think the green is something that you would get tired of after a while. A Sea Dweller will always be something special.
I too believe that the glidelock clasp is amazing and should be offered on every sports model, but have you thought of another model like the Explorer II and adding the glidelock yourself? |

Any chance of selling one of your existing Subs and getting both the LVC And SDC?
That would be the route for me. |

Personally, I would keep the 114060, sell the 116610 and buy the 116600. |

Here's a photo from my SD-c unboxing next to LVc. During the first week of ownership, I find myself going back to the LVc. Don't get me wrong, love the new SD but the way the LVc sits on the wrist makes it such a comfortable watch!
I haven't gotten used to the top heavy feeling of the SDc. I previously had the 16600 SD so I think it's just a matter of time to adjust. I wasn't a fan of the LVc until I bought one and now I love it to death. You can see in my pic that the green dial isn't as prominent as you think and often looks black unless there is direct sunlight on it. Good luck and you can't go wrong with whatever you choose! I think this is what I'd do. I tend to like color variations in my rotations...

When our pals here say the LV-C almost looks black from some angles I assume they say that in a happy way, and it makes me wonder if I want my green watch to look black why not have a black watch instead. But when I see it in metal or look at pics I really like it. My concern with the LV-C is what wisely said my buddy Wes: Im afraid I get tired of it in the long run.

The dial was gorgeous in the sun, but I found it silly to keep an expensive watch because of how the dial looks when it is in the sun. Maybe if I had a ton of watches, but at this point in my life, I'm a two watch guy. |

im encouraged in this attitude by experiencing some things that i just wasnt sure about going in or that i stumbled across but that have ended up being something that really pleases me. if i had been scared to try or doubtful i would have never experienced the happiness they brought me...of course, this is only applicable in cases where there really has been something of appeal to me in the first place. so, dont let a little bit of uncertainty dissuade you too much! |

NP. Keep in mind where you will wear it most. I spend a lot of time in the office, and it didn't look its best in that setting and lighting.
It sounds like you have a small wrist, you may want to think of the SDC is going to fit and look right on your wrist. This is where a slimmer Daytona might have an advantage. Best of luck! |
