The gentleman I've bought it from had bought it 20 years ago from Mr Dowling.
I picked it up for 700.- incl. book. I think I did okay, what do the experts on the forum say ;)?? |

I don't claim to be an expert but I would say you got a good deal. The dial isn't in great shape, but it's ok, and the fact that it features in arguably the best Rolex reference/history book is a plus, and the book is probably worth US$100, too. I think you did just fine.
