Grateful for any input on this 5512

I've just started my research on gilt dial 5512's and 5513's and stumbled across the following watch for sale:

1966 5512 Gilt Dial 4 lines
Matching case back
Original insert

The seller claims that the dial is tropical. Images are not the biggest, but I may get a chance to view the watch if interested enough.

I'm not quite far enough along in my research to feel comfortable buying either the 5512 or 5513 reference with a gilt dial, therefore your opinions on this piece will help get me up to speed a lot quicker.

As most of the value is in the dial, particularly keen to hear your views/opinions/pointers on this part of the watch. The bottom two lines of text "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" have faded pretty badly, which could be a deal breaker for me. From a collectability standpoint, should I be considering a chapter ring or underline dial?

Many thanks in advance Guys

I think you'll need bigger/better images, mate. The gilt dial looks very nice - those bottom two lines often fade more, from what I have seen. Bit of a shame, as they are hard to see... Case is quite polished, especially the CGs, IMHO.

Lovely looking sub, though - great insert and pearl, too!

The CG's have seen better days. Not going to pursue this one as just at the beginning of my search and patience is going to be key. Thanks for your input Karl

Nice gilt. Too much fade. Looks like replacement hands.
