My understanding is that Rolex doesn't recommend polishing a watch too often as it can be done only so many times. When going from polished to brushed and back I guess that wears the metal down even more.
When you sell a watch you may even get questioned if it has been polished. On this forum there are some people who hate the PCL's and would always recommend you to brush no matter what hit you may take on the value. But remember that Rolex made them polished for a reason: Because most customers want them that way! That said, if you really love BCL's and are ready to pay the price, just do it
