I wanna complain...

I try to be as true to myself and my values as possible in that when I believe in something I try hard to not do anything that would be against what I believe in.

Just down the street from my office there are a gaggle of senior citizens who meet daily and parade around Bank/Sparks streets with protest plackards for pro-life. They go walking around chanting some religious bafflegab about how abortion is against the will of Jesus Christ.

Now I firmly believe in freedom of speech and everyone's right to have an opinion different from mine. Personally I'm pro-choice, but that's besides the point.

I was completely galled the other day because I saw the gaggle making their rounds. Fine... but it was -15C out and windy as hell. One of the senior citizens, a woman, was wearing a full-length mink coat.

A FULL LENGTH MINK COAT!!! So it's against god's will to 'take an unborn life' but it's okay to kill an animal for vanity? Talk about hypocrisy! It's like the vegitarians who wear leather, or the peace activists who like to go hunting.

For the first time in my life, I kinda wanted to see a PETA protestor throw a can of red paint on that woman's coat...

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Well first it disgusted me, then I found the hypocrisy funny. I was tempted to ask her to justify the fur, but discretion is the better part of valour.

A wise decision on your part. She probably would have beaten you to a bloody pulp with her cane.

Highly unlikely... I had my Seiko BM on that day and I've already used it on a few seniors who have stepped out of line.

It sometimes better to chuckle ( or curse ) to yourself.
But, yes, It does get my goat too.

Ed's right John, some of those really radical pro-lifers will kill you to prove that they are, err, pro-life?
