Help in Toronto

Hi Everyone I am going to Toronto around yonge street for a bachelor party. Here is the issue, I am in charge of Sat night out. We are all in are mid thirties and looking for a place to go out without feeling out of place but still want to be around the action. We prefer bottle service if possible. Also any recommendations on restaurants would be greatly appreciated.

Harbor 60 is pretty fancy, depending on what kind of atmosphere your going for "the Brant House" might be worth a look.

Fortunately, we have some Toronto friends around here. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Meanwhile, I visit TO a handful of times a year and last visit I quite enjoyed brunch at beerbistro on king near yonge. Eggs Benedict + beer mimosa = yes please. Also a good place for a beer period, possible early before the night gets rowdy.

Steam whistle brewery is interesting. Didn't get a chance to take the tour but the building was cool and I did get a free drink.

I had a steak at Jacob & co.... I still recall how delicious it was. But it's a bit overprice, par for the course in terms of steakhouses in major metros though.

Honorable mention, bar hop for a good beer selection.

Come to think of it....I've just rattled off a bunch of beer joints. never was one for bottle service. Hooe you enjoy your time in the great Toronto metro!

I'm not too familiar with the hot spots these days but John Street & King Street is the Entertainment district. You should find plenty there. Also Yorkville area is pretty upscale with a lot of small restaurants. The are a lot of high end cars lined up along the streets too which always seem to attract attention. ;-)
Have fun...:-D

Yonge St is a very long street, If you're at Bloor St, Yorkville is the place to be. Great restaurants and bars. This is where the watches are. If you are downtown the Entertainment District is your place. Demographically I'm out of your zone. I don't do clubs but I do dine out a lot. But there are many venues and others can chime in.

I don't do clubs, but I loved "the Keg" when I visited Toronto.

Also visited a great Jazz bar quite close to the university grounds. Great music and atmosphere. Can't remember the name though.

King St West is the "new" entertainment district. Probably the best area for a stag. But I wouldn't camp out at a single spot. There are great pre-drink and dinner places between. spadina and Bathurst on King west. Many drinking spots. Lots of late partying bottle service clubs. And a strip bar. It's a bachelor party rolled into one major block.

Make sure you go to 2Cats. It's perfect for mid-thirties. Across the street from Bier Market.

Get Chinese at Roll San in Chinatown after the clubs (open all night, 5 min cab ride).

I live at King and Spadina and party regularly in Toronto - so feel free to PM me for more info, but here goes a few of my favorites -

Brant House is now Citizen, nice place but somewhat of a meat market (which is good or bad depending on your persuasion) good to start the night

Brassai - LOVE this place, 30s are spot on, great patio, dance floor, food and general vibe - definitely get a table.

2cats - fun, laid back place but get there before 10:30 else you'll be waiting in line a loooooong time

Uniun - a club, slightly younger crowd but fun

Copacabana Brazilian Steak House - there are two in the city, always good choice for stag parties

Cube - great patio and club, bottle service suggested

Thompson Hotel - not a bad spot, 30s an bottle service required

The Esplanade is good to start, there's a keg and bier Markt and other stuff there but you'll have to move to king (west of Spadina) for the bottle services in the entertainment district.

Real Sports bar - biggest sports bar in Canada, good spot but reservations needed!

Shark club - another great sports bar, this time at Dundas Sq.

The Football Factory - if you love soccer and the World Cup, this is your place to watch

john St - tons of places here including the ballroom (upscale ten pin bowling), Jack Astor's, hooters and others - it's fun on a sunny afternoon/evening.

There is sooo much stuff to do and so many places to eat it's too hard to fit in one message, it's all about what you and your boys want, what your budget is etc...

Good luck!

Chris

+1 for bicster's suggestions. Spot on. The only thing I can think of that a good bachelor party needs is indeed on Yonge St near Bloor.....

That's a tall order, indeed.

The mid-thirties are social limbo.

Too old for the youthful crowd and way too young for the swinging geriatrics.
