Just how much difference does a millimeter make?
Apparently a lot where door jams are concerned They say the SD is only about a millimeter taller than the rest of the Rolex professional line, but I've banged this watch on four door jams so far I don't remember doing that with my last few watches I'm going to have to get a little helmet for it

Now that you mention it......1mm doesn't sound like much, until you put one of these babies next to a Sub and you can really see the difference!!

CJ, its more like you'll need to protect your door jams since the SD will destroy it!

The SD is about 2 mm taller than the Sub, according to JJ a few threads back. I do have to be somewhat aware of surroundings when wearing the SD intially, but still had a couple of bangs. Fortunately, I am now more acclimated to it and usually can make through a few days without major incidents.

Outer case diameter of 40 mm is the same.....but the SD dial is 29 mm as compared with the Sub's 30 mm dial. JJ

Well I've had my SD for a while now and haven't had one single bang.

I know the SD pretty well and have learned to take the extra caseheight into consideration when wearing it. Luckily, so far I have not yet banged the SD into anything.
Well, almost! The Sub dial is 30 mm and the SD dial is 29,35 mm.

It'll probably do nothing for your street cred, but you could always turn the watch to face inwards!!!
