get him to send a photo of the pen as well. It may help Mont Blanc identify the it and make a better recommendation of refills.
Are you certain the pen cannot take fountain pen ink ? You get better value for money with fountain pen ink. That pen may have a converter option. If it does, you might as well get the converter so you have the option of both. Easier to get fountain pen ink bottles than refills.
