New bracelet on 16610?
As "pretty" as the new Subs are, I prefer the classic and non-"bling" design of the 16610. That said, the new solid bracelets and clasps are the bomb. Has anyone on the forum bought a new bracelet for their late model Sub? Assuming they're even the same lug width? Just curious and, of so, what's the cost of a new bracelet?

I'm pretty sure that this has been done, I believe that I remember pics of it here. Not sure of the cost but I do believe that it wasn't cheap.

Yeah i switched mine around, from my 116610 to my 16610lv and it fit perfectly, the newer bracelet feels a lot more refined and 'better' (cant think of a word right now). But that was when the 116610 was on a nato, now its back on its 97200 and the 16610lv on its original bracelet.

Expensive mod: think Tudor Blackbay or an IWC Mark XVI...
I too enjoy the solid bracelet of the newer sport models but I prefer the older clasp... Takes scratches and desk-diving much better... |

While the newer so called solid link bracelet might feel more substantial the newer type or so called solid links are still machined but they are machined with holes drilled right through the metal. So in the real world they are as well technically hollow but not to the same extent as the older type. And in every day wearing would doubt if any real difference in strength or longevity of life as long as you keep them clean. Thats the simple answer in the life of any Rolex oyster bracelet keep it clean and they will last 20-30 years plus.Even the older type Oyster bracelets have been stress tested and will take 525 lbs pressure before breaking and that's enough to seriously damage your wrist.Afraid today many believe that if its heavier it must be better and this is not always the case especially in watches.
