FS: 1953 Tropical Submariner 6204, All Original, Collector's set! Modem Burner 27 pix

Rolex Submariner "Small Crown"
Ref: 6204 (the very first Submariner model) Very early example. Predates the Roman Numeral Caseback Code.
SN: 98xxxx. Circa 1953. Numbers are all VERY crisp, clear and readable.
Dial: Outstanding Gilt Gloss dial & hands with even matching patina. The dial still has nice gloss and the patina gives it a cool sparkle in the light.
While the dial has a nice tropical patina there is no paint loss to any of the lettering or markers.
Bezel: Aged tropical insert which has actually turned a nice chocolate brown in some angles and compliments the gilt dial. A little difficult to see in some pics, but very nice. The bezel turns properly as it should.
Case: Nice straight case with thick lugs. Not overpolished and no dings or bumps. Nice Brevet crown.
Movement: The movement is very clean, rotor axle is good and the watch is keeping time.
Band: On later SUPER TIGHT Oyster Rivet (stretch-style), with clasp date code "76".
The original owner had replaced the bracelet during a service in the 1970s and pretty much stopped wearing it after that.
The bracelet is like new with 12 links. The bracelet is all original and has never been rebuilt.
We are also throwing in a Soft Horween Shell Cordovan Leather Strap.... just because it looks killer on the watch!
Comes with Box, Caseback Sticker, Service Papers from Rolex (dated March 6, 2014)
and a Letter of Provenance from the original owner's family.
The original owner was a Submarine Naval Officer (as both Navigator and Executive Officer) from 1952 to 1973.

Additional macro pics are available upon request.

Offered at: $33,000 USD, delivered worldwide via Fed-ex and insured by CGI.
