Dial change for the Deepsea D-Blue

I just spoke to my AD. Even though they don't have the DSDB in yet, I inquired if it is possible to get the dial of my original DSSD changed to the new model's. He affirmed that they have instructions from Rolex that that will not be an option for now. Maybe in a few years, but for now its the whole new watch or nothing.

Agree about the shocker $1300 plus for a few fonts and colour on a normal production model dial.

Well he meant that "maybe" I'll find a dial in my country in a few years from someone and will be able to change it. But officially, buying just the dial is not an option right now.

Wow. Didn't realise the premium was that much.

They really should have put a deep blue bezel insert on

All that money for a dip dyed dial and moving deepsea and changing the colour from white to green on the PC

Why change the standard black dial for this abomination?

That's more "reasonable" than $1300!

Thanks for pointing that out.

Of course. I'm sure the line will be similar to this:

Some things do not exist for a very simple reason: they are considered impossible to create. That is what was said about two-colour ceramic. No one had managed to discover a way of manufacturing a watch component in high-technology ceramic with bulk colouring in two distinct colours. No one before Rolex...

Rolex will certainly make it sound like that two color dial is a modern miracle that they invested millions to create. They have one of the most kick butt marketing teams I have ever seen.

Rikki told me quote "Rolex does not sell dials". So how would you just obtain the new one? You have to buy the watch!

They should've added some other new features to it to make it more enticing. I am not a fan of the gradient dial because some pics I'm some lighting so show it's black so it doesn't really look that different from the original

Is it officially confirmed that apart from the dial the SeaWeed is completely unchanged from the original DSSD?

Sure they have and I believe in many parts of the world, they still do. I don't know if its still the case but when my folks lived in London you used to be able to walk into RSC and switch out dials for Datejusts etc for just a fee.

In my mind, the $300 sounds in line with the $400 premium charged at the end of the production of the 16610V ($6400) over the 16610 ($6000).
That also was simply a change to a different dial and the green bezel insert.
Today the 16610V continues to sell at a higher price than a 16610.

But isn't the tie-up of celebrating the Submariner anniversary more meaningful?

This new Dssd is a celebration of one man solo dive to the bottom of the earth.

To me, the LV is more significant.

I'd pay a $300 premium for it! It's pretty cool actually. I have to see it in person
