I would sell the 116610LN and get the 116610LV AND the 116710BLNR.

Best advice. I would do the same.

Good luck.

Don't know how much travel you do but you do live in a country that spans several time zones. So if you have family/friends across the country or do business in other parts, you might find the BLNR will come in handy.

I suppose it depends on your preferences. If you are wanting a watch that looks different to others, then the green dial obviously distinguishes it from the LN. But if you are looking for more versatile utility, the GMT is the obvious choice because to us the GMT, not the LV, is the different watch. In this regard from a WIS perspective, the GMT is the better choice. The casual non-wis will more likely first notice the LV is different than the watch you have been wearing as the casual observer will pick up on that green dial and bezel before they will notice your old Sub now apparently has PCL's and a partly blue bezel. The blue is more subtle in person.

I'd go for the BLNR. Just as an aside, if you are concerned about a different "look" but also want the additional complication, you might also consider the GMT in TT. It can be had for not much more cash than the BLNR.

In my experience the blnr will struggle with the same similarity to you sub ln as the hulk. In many lighting situations the blnr looks all black.

I was in a similar spot, trying to pair with the gmt ln. I opted for the hulk, but seriously considered flipping my gmt towards the blnr as well.

My logic is as follows, hulk is available at a good discount (for ss Rolex). Blnr still enjoys a premium. I picked up the hulk now and will wait to decide on the blnr.

I love the hulk wayyyy more than expected. It has so many different faces depending on the lighting. This watch truly gets totally screwed by the lighting in ADs!

Well I have all three. Since you have the black Sub C, I would go with the BLNR.

Neither. The GMT is too similar looking, just a bit uglier; and the green sub is a complete no go for me.

BLNR. I don't see a problem having 2 black dial watch. If you go for another brand, like IWC or Omega... You probably get a black dial as well. Just imagine, if you have got the Hulk, you probably be seating at home thinking of a GMT. But if you have the GMT, you probably be comparing/admiring the difference with your SubC.

If you must stick to the two options you mentioned, BLNR is the way to go, IMO.

x3

If this is an option I would go with a white dial Daytona to compliment your SubC, otherwise I think you should decide yourself what will make you smile as your 2nd Rolex to complement your very versatile SubC LN.

Tough choice. Both are fantastic watches and arguably, they are the hottest pair of watches Rolex has on the market right now. To be honest, you can't go wrong with either of them. I was in a similar situation some time ago and could not decide whether or not to add a BLNR or an LV to my collection. Unlike you, I have the 16610 LN, not the 116610 LN. I ended up getting the BLNR first and then the LV. The reason was my heart was always set on the BLNR and the fact I did not have a GMT Master II in my collection along with the bi-colour bezel, the BLNR was chosen.

In your situation, I would recommend to choose the BLNR first as it is a little dressier and is a different type of watch than the 116610 LN. It is odd there is a 6-8 week waiting period for the LV. I thought the supply has caught up to the demand in Toronto (from what I have been told by my friends out there). I would have thought the BLNR would be harder to obtain. In Vancouver, both watches are available, but get sold very quickly at the AD's. It is not typical for either model to sit long. If a BLNR or LV is seen at an AD here, it is a safe bet it will be gone in a day or two.

In the end, get the one you like the best.

My thoughts as well.
The LVC is my favorite of all the watches mentioned but I wouldn't want to pair it with a LN.

Have you considered the Polar Explorer II 216570, a total tool watch with GMT hand. I wouldn't get two black faced watches. Or if you're looking for a weekend watch have you considered jumping off the deep and into the world of Panerai? Those watches are all weekend and seriously cool!

Exactly my thoughts.
I like the LV because it looks great and it's different, and I wouldn't want two steel Subs....so LV and BLNR.

I have the LN and BLNR and ordered the Hulk, so hard to say, if for a weekend watch maybe the Hulk, the BLNR and LN are very close, not a lot of colors, except a part of the bezel which is almost black when there is little light, so HULK I guess

Well I appreciate everyone's quick input to help me decide. Thanks all!!

I agree that having two of the same models would be redundant despite having different looks, but then again the submariner is my fav model in the lineup so to me having multiple wasn't an issue. The GMT was a completely different watch functionally despite it looking more similar to my sub. This was not an easy decision and I had to visit an AD on multiple occasions to see which one would "sing" to me more.

In the end I ended up ordering and finally taking delivery last Thursday of this....

The deciding factor was that it was a completely different model to my subC and although I wouldn't use the additional timezone much, it was nice to have it there. Also, the black and blue combo was gorgeous. A very nice dressy yet sporty model to wear for the weekends!

Loving it paired with my sub!

Well done !!

I would have suggested the BLNR even if you didn't have a Sub at all...

Hard to go wrong with either, but great choice.

BLNR is a much more modern watch in my opinion, and that extra 24 hour complication is very cool even if you're not tracking different time zones.
