Mont Blanc Leonardo Red Chalk with 3 nibs/2 Pens, and three different writing papers
Hello again readers. This is a Mont Blanc Limited Edition Fountain pen ink that comes in a beautiful
White presentation box with a sketch of one of Leonardos pieces. Some of the embroidery is in Red Gold, Leonardo is in Silver. Much of Leonardos work was done using a Red Chalk colour, hence the reason behind this colour. I have no personal disrepect for Leonardo, or anyone famous that any company has ever tributed an ink in their honour. I simply am not a fan of red brown in general. As a matter in fact this ink looks more towards the brown side and very little on the red at all. I wanted variety of inks more than it is a "Limited Edition", nor because it is Leonardos ink. No problem at all for those who love this ink. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Mont Blanc do not make poor quality inks. I simply would not be getting more bottles of this than other colours. For me personally I must really like the colour. The Midnight Blue and Irish Green look gorgeous on white and white-cream coloured paper. This Red Chalk ink is complimented by the Quill Marbletone Cream 100gsm paper. It is likely to look nicer on brown toned paper which would likeky be the coloured sketch paper & canvas that Leonardo himself used. I say variety of ink adds spice and options for your calligraphy so this ink would make a nice edition. Any feedback welcome.

I appreciate your demonstration of the ink and like it myself!
The shading and variance is lovely. I am going to look for a bottle.

Ink in the US
Hi, I can only imagine that there has to be enough Mont Blanc boutiques and/or other pen stores that would have this ink in stock. Unfortunately they are also supplying a much higher customer base.
There is an online store on the official Mont Blanc site for the US. You need to have a non-postal address for them to mail it to you, if you cannot pick up the bottle from one of their boutiques. The telephone numbers should be there, also I believe there is a 1300 number as such, to call.

Ok thanks for sharing but quite an unusual colour for me....especially in the case that I principally use a fountain pen for business.

Well that's what blues, blacks, and midnight blue Mont Blanc inks (and similar colours from other brands), are commonly for.
Doesn't mean that because it's after work you don't need to indulge your pen with other colours. Worth going to stores, bring your favourite writing paper and pens, to try out some other coloured inks. Some inks come out very lovely wet, some dry very nicely also. Some dry a very different colour than originally wet.

That's what makes writing with a Fountain pen so much fun...as you can buy multiple different colors from many companies to give yourself choices. It's very easy to flush out the ink from your Piston fill or Fountain pens with Convertors(as there are many methods for filling). Or you can end up buying a few FP's and then fill them each with your different favorite colors...so they are ready to write with!!!
