'Europe' is no worse than anywhere else, and certainly better/safer than many other places. Just use common sense.

If you're not choosing the GMT to take traveling then why on earth did you buy it?

The most sensible option is to wear the one you feel most comfortable with. In this case, it may be the SS GMT as it won't draw as much attention as one of your gold pieces.

GMT, of course and just have common sense when traveling! Use your wallet in the front pocket, and try to blend in a little. I lived in Barcelona for 1 year and nothing happened to me.

On topic - the GMT is a travel watch of course.
The vast majority of places in Italy are fine, but it all depends on where you are and what you are doing. If you in a bigger city, look like a tourist and wearing a $35K gold Rolex together with short sleeves, wondering aimlessly with a map, you are asking for trouble.

When I was in Barcelona a few weeks ago, with some local friends and family, they asked me cover roll down my sleeve over the Sea-Dweller at certain instances.
