Rolex GMT loses 20 min overnight?
Bought the watch pre-owned from an AD, properly wound watch 40 times, was working perfectly fine the first week with normal seconds loss, been on my wrist all day only off for night and/or shower. Fast forward to last night, took it off for bed, woke up put it on and it's showing 3:11p when it's actually 3:31pm!
Will bring it in for servicing as a suspect there's some lubrication, possible main spring needs repair, just general maintenance may not have been done on it? It's a 2006 model so who knows. Any other recommendations or thoughts as to what may be going on? |

Well would have it serviced but just wearing a watch all week doesn't mean it is fully wound
Would fully wind again and start looking for a RSC while you are at it It's still a great watch congrats! |

Aside from the slight chance that the power reserve wound down and you just happened to catch it when you did...no. Any warranty with the watch?

Wearing your watch for a week or more means that it has run down to whatever level of wind you may have put into it and not that it is fully wound. Usually folks only put in about 20 hours or less because we are not as active as in the past. You may simply have not been very active and your watch ran down, stopped just before you put it on, and you only noticed it later... You need more data before knowing that you, indeed, need a full service..

Sorry for being off topic - but do ADs sell preowned? Cos none of them in Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, HK that do (at least as far as i know that is) |

Some do here in the US. Ben Bridge and Tourneau come to mind.

For peace of mind, think the best approach is a full service. Best case, comes back shiny and well lubed, worst case something is wrong and it's covered under warranty (minus losing her for a few weeks) That part is the saddest. However, Cartier Bleu and the Datejust will just have to keep my wrist warm until she returns. |
