John Mayer's engraved clasp

John Mayer posted this today on his Instagram, any ideas on the watch or the meaning?

With limited context, I'd guess it has to do with this.

Edit: looks like it may refer to a very specific and rare type of guitar used back in the day. Any music buffs here?

John Mayer's engraved clasp

The watch was given to him by the guitar company, he's sponsored by them. Him being an avid watch collector it made sense for them to put it on a ROLEX

Trovador in Spanish is related to the person that sings with usually only a guitar, with lyrics that have deep meanings/messages

He can buff it out with scotchbrite. Assuming the Rolex is authentic

El Trovador was a model of guitar made by National Guitar
Mayer has his own signature guitar being produced by the C F Martin guitar company out of Naserith PA. est 1833

Its quality professional engraving at least
Makes me think could clasp engraving become some kind of personalisation because it's kind of like tattooing your Rolex.

He's not known as a slide guitarist but has a number of Martin Signature models (three I know of off hand). The Nationals were best know in the day for loud volume pre amplification resonator guitars using tricone or spider systems. In today's world they are know as bottle neck or lap steel acoustic guitars. I'll go with troubador.
