Help me see the AP light
I've been away from these forum's for awhile , and only just started getting back into them.
This week I picked up patek a/c and sub c lv. I just come back from long holiday where I just took my g shock and when came back I wasnt feeling the AP magic anymore. At moment I have the 15400ST and Bumble Bee . I'm thinking the sub lv takes care of my colourful fetish so do I need the bee anymore as well i not looking at growing my watch collection size wise. Also although not that old I find myself prefering watches witch are no bigger then the 40mm mark and not happy with 41mm size of the 15400 anymore . Apart from the my AP's I only have Pam 233 bigger then 40mm now. I very close to selling off both my AP's and think the only watch that may keep with an AP now is 15202 jumbo. You comments are welcome. thanks |

The 15202 sounds like a great option for you. Smaller, different color and Genta design.

I understand where you are coming from, I too had larger 44/5mm watches but now I prefer a more elegant, slimmer 40-42mm so I think the Jumbo is the ideal watch for you now. Try that on with a 5711 and see how they compare to you before making a final Genta choice.

Definitely get the Jumbo. Sounds perfect based on what you've said.

Interesting I don't find the 15400 to wear a lot larger than the sub c. I do feel the same about larger, heavier wrist wear though!
If you want a smaller, slimmer RO with great history. The 15202 is the ticket! |

I've been wearing my AP Annual Calendar (36mm) since I got it this weeks monday. Put on the Diver today, and I honestly felt like a clown.... You know... Clowns having clothes too big.
36-39mm is really the optimum size. I love my diver, but would love it more if it was 39mm. Best part... 36mm AP's can be snatched very cheap at the moment. I like it.

You might want to wait a bit. You never know, the magic might come back.
15400 is easy to find, but the Bee not so. Having said that, the Jumbo is definitely a keeper. It has been around for 40+ years and it is still a great modern piece. Go for it ! |

I however don't think people wearing big watches are clowns. I just thought I looked like a clown after my eyes adjusting to the 36mm AP. A reason for me having a feeling that my Diver is slightly too big for me at the moment is me having a normal weight of around 165lbs, I'm at around 150lbs at the moment. Adding 1,80m height to that equation means I'm rather skinny at the moment.

Yep Jumbo, I also have a few 44mm pieces, 3 Pams and 1 Blancpain, and I don't like them so much any more, am going to flip them along with others and go from a 10 piece collection to a 3 piece one, I would definitely flip your 2 AP's and get the Jumbo

We all have evolving tastes. The 15202 is the best example of AP.

Right on Mike, and if I may add, "revolving" tastes. At least I do.

Either keep the 15202, or sell both for something you truly like

For my wrist size and body mass of about 6 feet and 200 lbs and 8 inch wrist 40mm is a minimum. Especially if I don't correct my eyes. That would eat into my watch budget. |

Just today I had the same thought (same as OP).
I find my 15400 too big, I used to own a 15300 and regret selling it. The problem with the 15400 is only the size but the integrated bracelet and size don't seem to be a good fit for my wrist, a problem I did not have with the 15300 Had thought about flipping it for a Nautilus, but last time I tried on it felt tway too thin and flimsy, will give it another try. But a 15202 I believe would do the trick for me, we'll see. I hardly ever wear the 177 anymore, as I too, start to favor smaller watches.

15202 is a great AP, but very thin, so make sure to try it on if possible. |

thanks for all you input , I'm keeping the 15400 for now but may look to get the 15202 in the next few months.
Alas I think I will flip the bee , mainly to make room in the watch box for subc lv and pp5146g I picked up last week ..... the plan is only 4 watches plus casio's etc by the end of 2015 ... |
