fake DJ?

Looking at this watch reminds me of the fake I bought at a flea market, especially with the cyclops with no magnification and the poor overall appearance. what do you guys think?

Oh man, just horrible. Non-Rolex movement and aftermarket bracelet that he admits, not to mention that awful dial that he doesn't even own up to. What's left, the case?

person even left positive feedback. The case is also fake because it is a good fake, and all the paper work and the tag is very common these days.

What is really funny is the guy admits in the listing that the movement is not a Rolex Movement. Yet someone paid over $1,000 for it. I wrote the winner and asked him why he would spend so much money on a fake. I humbly await an answer. Inquiring minds want to know!

I wrote the buyer regarding the details about the watch. the buyer did not see the non rolex movement part. He/she advised they have emailed ebay. I dont know if buyer has much of a case as the description is clearly stating facts and no way have misprespresented the watch.

What I found to be interesting is there is a runner up on that auction willing to pay over $1000 as well

If the buyer read the 100% Rolex part but missed the non-Rolex movement bit - where would he/she stand?

Well the thing about ebay is that they don't make money if something doesn't go through, so they have a vested interest in making the sale happen. As stated, this is basically a case of buyer ignorance\laziness. Sorry, but he or she had a responsibility to read the details of the auction just like the seller had the responsibility of listing the non-Rolex parts. My money says Ebay will tell the seller they are legally bound to purchase the watch, or try to work something out like do a second chance offer to the next bidder and they pay the difference between the two or something. That would be at the seller's discretion though.

Argh, the seller wrote:
"100% Genuine Mens Rolex Date Just 16014 Stainless Steel Case with a 18k."
So, you only got the case as genuine!

Moreover, he said "Rolex "Date Just" 16014 Box, Booklets and Tag!!" - you only got those things as Rolex!

What a scumbag! and even dumber, someone fell for it!

that is not true at all.ebay makes money for the initial list, then if the item sells they tack on the final 1.5% keeping at an approximate 5% sellers fee

With all due respect, they're running a campaign for .01 cent listing fee right now. The catch? You have to start the auction at .99 cent or less. Even without that "special price", the listing fee is usually just a few dollars. They make their real money when something sells. Why do you think they charge so much to put a reserve on an auction? They don't care it you have to take half of what it's worth. All that matters to them is that money changes hands so they get the big money.

I never got an answer back from the guy so it must have taken more than one of us to alert him he paid over $1,000 for a fake watch. This just proves beyond a shadow of a doubt; "Always read the fine print." I'm willing to bet that some of the people I warned the other day about the 6 fake Rolex watches went through with the deal believing that people who write to them after the bids are over are scammers.

I'm betting that this guy is going to get stuck with the watch or he will not pay for it and leave e-bay. I sure would not want to pay for that even if I had made a mistake. I'd be running as fast as I could .

Someone bought a 1930's Rolex Marconi today where it went from $600.00 to $1,000 and then directly to over $5,000 in a couple of bids. He could have had it for much less but bid stratospherically in an instant.

People are sometimes funny.

Yeah, those people that "won" (if you can call it that) the auctions are already emotionally invested in them by the time it's done. They also just don't know what the hell they're doing and foolishly think they're getting a good deal. Knowledge is power, and unfortunately when they try to either send them to RSC, or flip them for another watch they're going to get a heavy dose of reality.
