Daytonas in the AD window!!

Yes, you read right...

I strolled past my favourite AD today (favourite 'cos I've bought a few watches from him and he lets me into his watchmaking workshop without knocking!!) and was momentarily stunned. I couldn't believe my eyes, two stainless steel Daytonas in the window. A black and a white.

The going prices for these are:

USD14,600 for Black

USD13,800 for White

The Black face is in higher demand in Asia and getting them at MRSP is impossible. Incidentally, my AD's wife, who runs the shop front, said that if I'm ask him nicely, he might discount them for me... I might go have a chat tomorrow while I borrow his electronic timer to check my FP Journe!!

Good for you Lee, hope you can get a good deal from your AD on the Daytona.

Thanks Jason, but I think it's just going to be a chat. I have a black 116520, and it would be insane of me to drop that much cash on a white face when I could save it up towards my dream watch... But then again, if the Daytona in SS is indeed discontinued in favour of a new model... heh heh...

An attempt has been made!

But it's behind two pieces of glass... one: the actual glazed shop front... two: the glass of the display unit itself... results were slightly less than spectacular.

No way Jose.

I was pretty shocked when another AD, part of an influential and significant group in SE Asia said that Rolex Singapore (distributor) actually tells them what to sell it at. Off topic, but the Milgauss retails here for between $9,500 to $12,000 from white dial to GV.
