Don't get me wrong, I like to see what all of us are picking up too, it's fun...but I enjoy even more a stimulating, intellectual discussion on subjective topics like this. If you ask me (which, admittedly, nobody did), this is exactly why a forum like this exists.

Now, for the original topic... I love the watch, but I agree that the Cameron tie-in is a departure for Rolex. But then again, so was a green bezel on a Sub to commemorate 50 years, so maybe it's really not as new and unheard of as we're thinking.

Did I mention that it's a damn beautiful watch?

This is my point, a discussion..as like you I think this watch looks great.

Cameron could very well have worn a Swatch for the dive. Doesn't change my love of the watch but lets be clear about the necessity and the fact that this was (from a marketing perspective) a product placement.

I agree with you and hope Rolex won't fall into the practice of naming watches after people to me it's a little cheesy and up to this point it's something that has set Rolex apart from other luxury brands

That's not the D-Blue watch in this thread. That was a specially made one of a kind piece, much like the Rolex made for the Bathyscape Trieste was a one of a kind piece. Or was it two of a kind? Anyway, you get the idea...
