Anyone have one of these winders?
Saw this winder recently. The only winder for self winding watches (that I know of). I love the robust look.. The price tag however made me fall off my chair.. It too is robust lol.
Was curious if anyone owns one of these. Tks |

Looks like a WW2 detonator, very cool. Puzzled about the effectiveness of winding on a vertical axis tho

Part of the fun in owning a manual winding is winding the watch IMHO. The Dornbluth is an abosolute pleasure to wind and it won't allow to overwind as it'll stop like most manuals. I can actually set my dornbluth 99.1 faster (with Dirk's QA upgrade) than my 215670 but not as fast as my GV.

I agree 100% that winding by yourself is better and brings you closer to the watch. I thought this just looked so cool. If the price was a bit more reasonable (that's my personal opinion) then MAYBE I'd get it just for the cool factor.. But I'll put the $3k towards another watch.

Wow crazy. Did not realize this existed. Winding is one of the pleasures of a mechanical watch for me. But this is very cool aside from its usefulness.
