1980 GMT 16750, matte dial, nice yellow patina and serviced
FOR SALE: GMT 16750, matte dial, very late 1979 to early 1980 model with 66XXXXX serial number. This is a transition model in that it was made when Rolex was not stamping Registered Design between the lugs. (For a couple years, beginning around 1979 and continuing through 1980 was when these watches were built.)
This is a very nice, early, matte-dialed 16750 with a pleasing patina and matching hands. It wears the original red-back insert which has suffered a few scratches through the years but still appears very nice and has a nice fade to the blue and red areas. It also has the original 78360 bracelet, with all 13 links and very minimal stretch. The outer clasp is very nice and the stamped coronet is fully visible. The case has been expertly polished back to original specifications with nice, full crown guards and full lug chamfers. The serial number and model number are clearly visible between the lugs and are free of any corrosion in that area. The watch has been completely serviced and any part needing repair, replaced or refinished was completed by my certified watchmaker here in Dallas. This service comes with a one year warranty from the servicing watchmaker. BRACELET: The watch wears a VD date code (1979) 78360 oyster bracelet which is in excellent condition with all 13 links. PRICE: $7500 plus shipping. (I am not accepting paypal at this time.) RETURNS: The buyer will have a three day inspection period and may return the watch after three days of receipt if it is not as described.
