Exp-II gone with the (Cross) Wind !!

Well, guys, BOTH watches GONE!!

If you remember, I had placed an ad in the local rag advertising the Crosswind. So guess what? After almost 4 weeks of continuous advertising every Thursday, one guy finally calls up.

He starts to negotiate over the phone and finally says he's prepared to pay 4 grand (Kiwi $) for the Crosswind. I was overjoyed as I had got it for only NZ$3,500. So the guy turns up with his wife and the cash. He likes the watch and notices my TT YM. WOW!! Nice watch that. I told him I also had an Exp-II and he asked to see it. I showed it to him and he asked: "Is this one for sale?" So I quoted him 500 bucks more than what I paid. He brought me down a bit and we negotiated back and forth. Finally, he agreed on the same price which I paid for it almost FIVE months ago. All this happened yesterday (Tuesday), so it all went off pretty well for me. He finally walked off with the Crosswind and the Exp-II.

Cheers - JJ

PS: Johnny, sorry, but I know you will be disappointed that I got rid of the Exp-II. It was a golden opportunity I saw and grabbed it.

Agreed, but selling the black ExpII is stup... um... ridicu...um.. typical JJ.

I knew it was a matter of time, and I believe I said back when JJ got the Passwind, that it and the ExpII would be sold/traded for something else (I said a TT Daytona, but at least I got the brand right).

BTW, if JJ now has a Panerai daytimer, I agree that by mid-summer, he'll have a 104 or possibly an 88 on his sweater.

Funny you should mention the Panny thing, Johnny. Yesterday afternoon, David (Mansor) did show me a couple of Pannies while I was there. Yes, I do admit that I was overwhelmed with the finish and heft of that watch....truly masterful in all respects....but....somehow....it still didn't do it for me. Please don't get me wrong. It's a superbly beautiful looking watch and it gets my 100% admiration! But I think I'll stick to Rollies ONLY from now on.

I know you've heard that too a few times in the past, but I burnt my fingers twice in recent months - once with that orange PO and then again with the Crosswind...got lucky with the latter, but lost on the former.

Yes but JJ, the 'once bitten, twice shy' routine doesn't work with you.

That's because he's been bitten by the flipping affliction.
