Tanning/Sunburn itch of death!

Coming from a hot climate (right on the Tropic of Capricorn) where it is Summer 9 months of the year, I have never 'sunbaked' in my life but find in my 60s that I have lots of little "skin cancers" on the arms and legs. Probably the legacy of working outdoors in the yard without long sleeves and trousers.
In my younger days there was little recognition of the dangers of sun exposure.
I shake my head when I see young folks out and about in the middle of Summer with no hat and minimum clothing, maybe relying on Sunscreen.
Some skin types maybe handle sun-exposure better than others but it is a big risk for very little return for most fair-skinned people.

Its inane I know. I remember talking to a dermatologist a while back and he said " you know who should tan in the sun" I said, who?, he goes "no one its one of the worst things you can do to your skin."
