I have an emotional attachment to my navitimer because it was a gift and it will always be in my collection. I am biased.
That said, it is really hard to turn down a speedy, even though I do not own one. If the navi has the in house movement, then I say coin toss. If not, I would lean towards the speedy. Navitimer will garner more attention if that bothers you. Both excellent choices. edit: Lets take it a step further... Omega: simple classic design, below the radar, very good movement verdict:the iconic chronograph Breitling: Busier classic design, wrist presence, recently in house movement Verdict: A beautiful chrono with rich history |

Well the 3570.50 NOW comes with a lot of goodies and new box now but MSRP is $700... the ref number has also changed this year. It also comes with a new screw adjust bracelet but I never seemed to have a problem with the old pins.
If you act now you can likely get a 2014 3570.50 for around $3300-3500 after discount without all this extra nonsense. It now comes with a cool box (as opposed to the red boxes which are crap), a loupe with a tachy (cool gimmick), and a couple straps including the NASA strap I think. It's cool but not $700 cool IMHO. You can buy the goodies set separate anyway. |

I am an absolute Speedy fan and trust me you will not be disappointed..and I am also a fan of the new box set, I may be in the minority in this regard...but the in-house Navitimer does compete very well with the speedy and is not a bad choice on its own, but the in-house one is much pricier than the Speedy, and I like the speedy more anyway, so Speedy would be my choice...happy hunting

they are both iconic chronographs so it would be nice to have them both.
i dont think this should be much of a factor but it may be worthy to note the basic navitimer is inhouse: b01 and automatic the speedmaster still has the same movement and manual wind quality wise i think they are the same. i would lean towards the speedmaster because it looks cleaner and doesnt look too big. |
