Would you buy a two-line Sub with no bracelet?

It doesn't have a box or papers either, but looks great with a NATO strap.

Thoughts?

Depends. Are you planning to resell? Why not if the deal is right? Just make sure it's legit and from a good vendor or have an AD check it out before hand.

If you already "bought the seller" why not? Head only is very common and it looks great with different straps IMO.

Yes, I would especially if I was going to be wearing it on straps. However, I would make sure the price was about $1,000 less than one with a bracelet to leave room to purchase one later if desired.

No, I'd keep it and wear it everyday. I'm pretty tough on watches. It wouldn't technically be a beater watch, but it would look pretty weathered in a year or two of wear (hunting, fishing, mountain biking, chores, etc.). That's why it might almost be better for me to buy a watch with no bracelet other than a NATO strap.

Purchasing a bracelet later really isn't an option in my mind. Cost is a big factor- the money you save buying head-only using doesn't cover the price of a bracelet later. Second would be finding an authentic bracelet. Real parts are hard to come by and you need to definitely buy the seller when it comes to those, because I'm not good at spotting the slight inconsistencies in fake bracelets.

If your plan is to wear it on straps, then go for it. I like options, so head-only limits to to no Oyster bracelet- my favorite option.

I don't always wear it on the bracelet but I've definitely got to have it as an option. I love the classic oyster bracelet and I wear it more than anything else.

I have bought a couple. Both specifically to wear on straps. A 1680 white with Luminova dial and a 14060 that's at IWW being PVD/DLCed as we speak.

Having just done this last month, I can tell you that you won't find a head only for $3000. $3,300-3,500 is a realistic range. This from watching the "For Sale Section" for a few weeks and PMing 7-8 of our trusted sellers specifically looking for a 14060 head only for $3,000. I did finally find an excellent example for $3,400.

I'm not fond of NATO straps, but a Sub would always look good on a quality rubber strap...

If the watch is in top shape and the price is right, why not..

14060s have been rising in value. I dont know how much just the head is . But if its over 3300$ just save another 700 and go looking for a complete watch for 4k. At 3k just head is what i'd pay. Maybe a little more

I think that Rolex is the only watch that looks best on bracelet, but the good thing about Oyster bracelets is that they are very easy to find.

Buy it at an appropriate discount and then find a bracelet later.

If it's a good price, absolutely I would buy it. I'd slap on a nice nato strap and be happy to keep it like that permenantly.

I would but only if I had the dough to drop on a cool beater. I will say this however, if you were going to pick a model to buy without the bracelet and wear on a NATO, that is probably the one. Maybe that or an older Explorer.

No. It's cheaper to buy the whole thing and you'll probably want that bracelet someday.

No reason not to if the price is right. I wear mine almost exclusively on Nato straps as I think it's the perfect look for the 14060M. Rubber works really well also.
