Mercedes second hand overlap differences

I'm just admiring my latest Rolex...the LVc. They I noticed the second hand back end doesn't overlay the center of the mercedes hour hand in the center. My other Rolex do. I've been searching the web for pictures and I think none of the ceramic Rolex's line up that way anymore.

116610lv

My others do overlap

Can anyone else confirm this that the ceramics don't line up anymore?

I have a pic of my 16610 that the overlap I'm talking about is show.

That is a 16618 right? (Aluminum insert, not ceramic)

Thanks!

Never noticed that. My 216570 lines up just like your 16610 does.

I bought a new LVc at my local AD about 2 weeks ago and it does the same thing.
Recently a member posted that their cyclops on their LVc did not have the x2.5 magnification. At the time I commented that I could not live with that. When I took my new LVc straight out of the coffin as it was ordered in for me, I noticed that the magnification wasn't the same as others either. Having it in my hand made me realise it doesn't bother me at all and still looks great, so my previous comment to another member was not correct and based on a magnified image which they took. I would guess the magnification on mine is about x2, not x2.5 as people would expec to see. On my wrist it's barely noticeable. I guess it's just the way Rolex do it. I hope this helps put your mind somewhat at ease to know your not the only one

Chaps

This is another great milestone in the history of the forum. We now have a topic that is dafter than "is it ok to wear my Deep Sea in the shower".

Yours in quiet amusement

Rogdogg: I wouldn't swap mine now. I think it's the way a lot of new ones are coming from the factory, and as you say, once it's on your wrist you start wearing and stop caring!

I wouldn't swap mine either. I bought mine knowing that it was like this because it's not an issue. I didn't notice it after purchasing. I did however say it would drive me nuts based on the magnified image previously which was posted. I just wanted to correct that.

I think these little 'variations' are normal for Rolex, just like with dial fonts and printing

Just checked my trusty old 16710 and my second hand back side passes the Mercedes emblem exactly as your first picture - outside edge of the silver circle at the center of the emblem, IOW, not concentric.

To be honest, I would have never thought to check this. If/when I get get enough energy and interest, i will fetch some from the safe and investigate further.

Even with this small difference, the ball of the second hand still fits perfectly inside the O in Rolex on the dial when it passes over it.

Rolex is simply saving on material costs.

Next cut will be a switch to Toyota hands.

What is up with all the sarcasm? I thought this was a place to discuss the minut differences in Rolex watches. I am on a watch forum am I not?

I'm not saying there is a problem with my 116610LV, but more that it looks like Rolex has changed their hand size on ceramic subs and gmts.

All of my non-ceramic watches all line up in the middle. 16610, 214270, 168622

To be clear, I'm observing this, not complaining about it. If you don't think this is interesting....move along. I did think this was a watch forum where people liked to talk about details like this.
