Only Explorers?
My first Rolex was an Explorer II Polar 216570. I have been looking at the rest of the models, trying to choose another (and last for a while) Rolex, and realize the only other Rolex I love is the Explorer I 39mm.

Is it crazy to only own the two Explorers as the only Rolex watches in a collection? (I also have a Speedy Pro and a Tag Heuer Carrera Heritage Calibre 6) I love the BLNR but am not crazy about it actually on my wrist, the same goes for the Sub.

They're two completely different watches, so as noted above, it's not a bad choice and those two cover a lot of bases.

I know one collector that has nothing but Explorers. Something like a dozen. Tight focused collection with a ton of history.

I have both and went polar for the 2. In all honesty, besides the name there is no overlap... Very different models in design and feeling on the wrist.

I think an explorer 2 with ceramic bezel in gold would be amazing.

And to the OP...nothing wrong with owning an explorer and an explorer 2! I think thats a great idea as they are both fantastic pieces and you will see a lot less of them than Subs and GMTs out in the wild.

It would be a true "collection" because the two are linked by the name but to have a black and a white dial Rolex is fantastic for any reason. You will love it!

Owned both the 36mm and 39mm Explorer I simultaneously for a brief period and I didn't think I was crazy. So shouldn't you! Lol. Explorer is the best Rolex ever made, IMHO.
