Not a prince IMHO. They are less rectangular.

Pop open the caseback and let us know the model number, that will aid greatly, also take pics of the movement, they had various finishes of the movement depending on the grade of watch. I believe the dial has been redone at some point, and the case is not a common model, and the SN is supposed to be on the caseback and it's not there so it got polished off at some point, probably to remove an engraving making this a pretty hard piece to identify or date with the pictures provided.

Looks like it might be a French "contract" case...

A Prince has a second hand dial that is almost the same size as the hour dial. And was made in the 30's.
Your watch appears to be from the fifties or possibly early 60's.
It has the nicest case that I have seen on a vintage dress model.
I love that rounded side profile.
It will be interesting to see if it is a contract case as mentioned or Rolex case.

The case gives more questions than answers. Usually when they were contract cases they had the casemaker then it would say made for rolex below it. This one just has 7669 in it which didn't turn up any models online. Could be recased, but the movement fits like a glove. And a real rolex case should be stamped rolex on the caseback. Is the gold hallmark on the side of the case?

Will be interesting to see others opinions on this piece as I really don't know what to think.

maybe the number inside is only the number of the gold case, the gold hallmark is on the 2 parts of the gold case, one inside where the caliber is insert, and the second one on the side of the gold case ( part where the glass is ) it s also written some words inside but too small to read them.

i'd sell it as is, I don't think the service cost would be recouperated.
