what do you guys think of the new IWC annual calendar ??
Certainly not my cup of tea but curious what others think
I think their perpetual is so much nicer than this if you want to get some complications. I admit I don't know the price difference. |

At first glance it looks good to me. I like symmetry. But haven't read the specs yet. If it's over 42mm then not for me. The perpetual is 44mm I think and waaaay too big IMHO.

Not so much the diameter but the thickness.

At first glance I liked it too but after inspection I feel the date windows are too close together and I don't like that the month is on the left side and day of week on the right. Seems jumbled to me.

It is 43mm which I think is on the large side. I also think the date apertures are a bit too close together, but the thing that bothers me the most is the word "annual calendar" on the dial. Much prefer the 7 day Portuguese or
Perpetual. |

Not a fan at all. Dislike the text on the dial and most of all the size.

Not sure I like the "combined" look for the month/date/day...

Don't like it. Especially the fact that it says Annual Calendar.

At 44mm it sounds too big on paper. Realize it could always be different on the wrist but on mine, sounds too big.

"what do you guys think of the new IWC annual calendar ??"
LOL...from your thread title, I thought we were going to see 12 awesome centerfolds of IWC's best watches.... January screws everything up related to time; I'm still putting 2014 on my checks... Hurry up Spring and get here soon....

I like it... I'm a sucker for a blue dialed watch (I'd throw a blue croc strap on it). I'd prefer the day on the left too, as it does seem jumbled.
The legibility has to be 10 xs better than the PC with all the small dials. I know my RO PC was pretty hard to read (though only 39mm). |

I would like it if……………
The Month and Day were changed around. So it would read from left to right Day,Date & Month. Why have they done it, imo, back to front??

While signing a document we only need month and date (for example, Aug 25th) ... not the day. For such purposes it is easier if month and day are side by side. May be that's the reason ... just my guess,

They claim the layout is in tribute to FA Jones (an American ) and they claim this is the American layout. I much prefer day of week, date and month as in today is Sunday, the 18th of January.

Which imo will limit the number of people interested in the watch. My brain is wired to read the date: Day, Date & Month

I really am not a fan of a watch over 40mm on leather.
