Official proposal for GTG
After a good response from first thread (http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=370158) and a smaller turnback from the poll (http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=371146), here are the comments:
-It looks like Vegas is the best option -A few limited would like to do Mexico -Either way, November is tough due to Thanksgiving, December for Xmas and new year, and comments suggest late February '15 After spending a good hour with my travel consultant (Gracias Adriana), the best alternative rate-wise is for the weekend of February 27, 2015. During that weekend, places like Luxor offer under $80us/night rates, Mandalay under $160, Palazzo/Venetian/Bellagio around $250 and Wynn/Encore a whopping $500 Trying to set a central hotel is tough, as we all have different budgets, plus moving around in Vegas is pretty easy. So here is the FIRM proposal: Vegas international GTG to be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015, with the following agenda: -Friday Feb 27: Dinner on the strip, followed by cigars -Saturday Feb 28: Meet mid morning for brunch, have instensive watch related day visiting Wynn and Caesars Palace Rolex stores, plus IWC, JLC, Panerai, Omega, etc boutiques along the way. Ealry dinner. With only one positive response, I will confirm and purchase my plane tickets right away, so the GTG will happen either with 2 or 200. A far as Mexico, the place is Monterrey (nonstops from Vegas, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit); with a similar agenda for a Friday/Saturday food feast (trust me, food will be pretty good!) and watch boutique visits; if anyone is interested, let's set up a date and make it happen! (I can easily do this most weekends with fair notice). So here it is, I am in! |

I'll definitely try and attend. In my field it's a little challenging as the end of the month/beginning of the month are the busiest times for work. Thanks for organizing this. Placing a similar thread in the General Discussion forum would also receive more attention.

Gerardo, I am in for Vegas. The wife might join as well, so I would prefer the Palazzo. We like staying there. Their casino is not good as we never win, but we like the hotel . Otherwise, I would say Bellagio.
Keep this thread posted if dates change. |

Well, I said this would happen with at least one more confirmation, and here it is! So date is set! As far as location, we can meet anywhere, I agree that Palazzo/Venetian have a lot of options. As far as where to stay, I would like to leave that part to each member, as travel budgets and preferences are different. But as of today, confirmed.

Gerardo, thank you for organizing and committing to the Las Vegas GTG. I will do my very best to be in attendance that weekend, possibly with the wife as well.

Just stayed at Vdara last weekend. The Crystals shops next to Aria have Richard Mille, AP and Tourbillon stores.
Looking forward to end of Feb. |

Vegas at the end of February would be a welcome break from New England. Better check flights...

Do we reply on this thread - or the other? We're getting things organized to be able to attend. This sounds like FUN and there are six (6) Rolex ADs in Las Vegas. Not to mention the other watch lover shops!
